The Bet

I have a bet going with a colleague at work who weighs about 10 pounds less than me that when I come home from this trip, 4 weeks long, eating out all the time and not working out regularly, I will outweigh him by 20 pounds. He's probably right. So far, I haven't even smelled a gym and I've been eating some rather rich foods that I would never eat at home. Hopefully I can make up for it by doing a lot of walking, which is my normal MO when in new places.

Andrew,
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you can do it if you make up your mind and of course your body.

Love you,

English food has gotten a lot better, but it is miles behind America when it comes to having healthy options for those on the go who don't want to spend a fortune.

You shouldn't be too bad - English portions are about half the size of those you're used to. and as for free refills...

Check out the Golden arches though -they seem to have given up on the idea of healthy eating and salads and produced a Bigger Big Mac for the duration of the World Cup (not sure what the link is)

Thanks, Phil. But I think I'll take a pass. Anyway, it's not so much the portion size, and you can find hurge portions here if you know where to look (for the example the all you eat continental breakfast at my hotel). It's the full fat milk and other dairy products and the temptation that I can east just about anything on the menu I want. So far temptation is winning the battle over moderation.
